Advance Coaching has a suite of ILM endorsed Coaching Skills Programmes that are aimed at assisting managers and supervisors in adopting a coaching approach and skills in their performance of staff.

Institute of Leadership and Management Endorsed Course Northern Ireland (NI)PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: A COACHING APPROACH

This three day ILM Endorsed Programme is designed for senior and middle managers responsible for the performance management and supervision of staff in achieving short and long term work related goals. It will be of particular interest to the following participants:

  • First time managers wishing to develop their management skills;
  • Experienced managers wishing to gain more from performance management and enhance their management supervision interventions;
  • Senior managers wishing to develop and implement Performance Management systems within their organisations.
  • Rationale

    Performance Management is an important tool in managing the performance of individuals at all levels of an organisation. It can provide challenges even when delivered at its best and new skills and approaches are always a welcome addition to the managers “tool kit”. Coaching provides an addition and its behavioural models and practical skills can be easily integrated within a performance management programme. Coaching skills are very effective in rapport building, defining goals, action planning, motivating and confidence building all important concerns for the manager.

    This three day ILM Endorsed programme is designed for supervisors who are supporting staff in their day to day work and in achieving short and long term work related goals. It will be of particular interest to the following participants:

  • First time supervisors wishing to develop their supervision;
  • Experienced supervisors wishing to gain more from staff performance and enhance their supervisory interventions;
  • Supervisors working in the housing, health and social care sector who want to integrate coaching within their service approach.

    Supervising or managing staff provides many challenges irrespective of the working environment or professional context. Traditional methods of telling staff what to do and expecting them to do it may not always get the results you need or want.     This one day ILM Development Programme is designed for client facing staff who would like to enhance their interactions with their clients/customers. It will be of particular interest to the following roles:

  • Housing support staff, housing officers or hostel workers;
  • Residential care staff or social workers working with young people or vulnerable client groups;
  • Health Care Practitioners, care workers, mental health support staff.

    Building relationships with clients and improving the interactions we have with them is at the heart of good service delivery. For staff engaged in client facing work new skills and approaches are always a welcome addition to the “tool kit”. Coaching provides such and addition and its behavioural models and practical skills can be easily integrated within any client working role. Coaching is very effective in connecting and building rapport with clients, getting to the root of problems, helping the client find their own solutions and building confidence and creating motivation.
