Introduction to Coaching Skills

This one day ILM Development Programme is designed for client facing staff who would like to enhance their interactions with their clients/customers. It will be of particular interest to the following roles:

Rationale
Building relationships with clients and improving the interactions we have with them is at the heart of good service delivery. For staff engaged in client facing work new skills and approaches is always a welcome addition to the “tool kit”. Coaching provides such an addition and its behavioural models and practical skills can be easily integrated within any client working role. Coaching is very effective in connecting and building rapport with clients, getting to the root of problems, helping the client find their own solutions and building confidence and creating motivation.

Coaching Skills for Key Workers

This three day ILM Endorsed Programme is designed for key/link workers who are supporting clients in achieving short or long term goals. It will be of particular interest to the following roles:

Key/link working provides many challenges for staff who are engaged in supporting vulnerable clients. New skills and approaches are always a welcome addition to the key workers “tool kit”. Coaching provides such an addition and its behavioural models and practical skills can be easily integrated within a link working relationship. Coaching is very effective in rapport building, defining goals, action planning, motivating and confidence building all important concerns for the key worker.
